A retired educator and a member of a Honolulu family involved in the arts for over three generations, Phi's main influences have been Vincent Scully and Nelson Wu at Yale as well as Frances Ellison and Noreen Naughton of Honolulu.
In recent years Phi has exhibited locally with Association of Hawaii Artists shows and other venues in Honolulu. Mostly doing landscapes of island scenes in acrylics, Phi's paintings are in individual collections in Hawaii and both coasts of the mainland.
